Six independents in the Lyon area · Paris and worldwideEvent filming in Lyon: what you take home from it
An event lasts a day and then it is gone. Turnkey filming turns it into material that works all year: every talk in full, a short highlights film, clips per speaker. Collective Efficiency works in Lyon, in Paris and on location, on quotation.
What do you take home from event filming?
Three distinct deliverables, to be decided before, not after.
The full recording. Every talk captured in full, clean sound, the speaker’s name and title on screen. This is what goes to those who missed it, and what gets archived.
The highlights. Two to three minutes that carry the atmosphere: the welcome, the key moments, the faces, a line that stays. This is what gets posted and watched.
The clips. One to two minutes per speaker, in vertical format if your speakers publish them themselves. It is the most shared deliverable, and the one most often forgotten at quote time.
How many cameras do you need?
One camera is enough for a short talk in a single room, with a fixed wide shot and an operator adjusting it.
Two cameras change everything as soon as there is an exchange: a wide shot on the stage, a close shot on whoever is speaking. The edit can then cut without jumps, hence shorten, hence be watched.
Three cameras and more for a panel, an awards ceremony, a large room, or when a live stream is going out.
The number is decided on the running order of your event, not on a package.
What about the sound?
This is the point where most event recordings fail. Sound picked up by a camera at the back of a room is unusable, whatever the quality of the picture.
We take the sound at the source: a direct feed from the desk if your venue has one, lavalier microphones on the speakers otherwise, with a backup recorder running the whole time. If your venue has a sound contractor, we get in touch beforehand.
How far ahead of the event do you need to book?
Two weeks are enough for a simple recording. Three to four weeks are comfortable: time to receive the running order, scout the room, and talk to the sound contractor or the stage manager.
One week can be done, the day before too. Call us, and we will tell you frankly whether we can hold it.
